BeyonceBillboard Magazine names pop queen as the most defining artist of the 2010s Influential music magazine hails Beyonce as the top singer of this decade to have impacted and influenced the music industry.





 
Queen Beyonce has been named by Billboard Magazine as the 'most defining artist of the 2010s'.
In the write-up, Mrs. Carter is described as "flawless", and "star that every other entity is forced to orbit." The feature also highlights revolutionizing album releases by dropping an album prior warning. The 'Beyonce' album is hailed as an instant classic that redefined her populist sound.
"Bey toppled the industry's plane by dropping an instant-classic full-length with no prior warning, selling hundreds of thousands of copies within less than a week, redefining her crowd-pleasing sound and putting out over a dozen visuals that kept our jaws squarely on the floor" wrote Jason Lipshutz and Elias Leight for Billboard.
Artistes such as Kanye West, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga make up the list of "The 10 Defining Artists of the 2010s".

The leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau has claimed responsibility for the recent massacre in Baga, Borno State.
Shekau made the claim in a 35-minute video posted online adding that the sect would not stop killing.
About 2,000 people were reportedly killed in the 6-day attack while many others were driven from their homes.
Shekau said:
"We killed the people of Baga. We indeed killed them, as our Lord instructed us in His Book. We will not stop. This is not much. You will see. I'm ready"

Legon 'Fresh Boy' Sentenced To 20 Years Imprisonment 19-year-old Atta Kyei, alias Fresh Boy has been sentenced to 20 years in imprisonment with hard labour..

A 19-year-old Atta Kyei, alias Fresh Boy has been sentenced to 20 years in imprisonment with hard labour by the Accra Circuit Court on Monday, January 19, 2015.
The convict who was found guilty for attacking and robbing a business woman of her bag containing two mobile phones, GH¢2,000, ID card and other personal items on January 6, 2015 at Legon in Accra.
Kyei, who pleaded in tears, told the court that it was the devil that caused him to engage in the robbery.
However, the court, presided over Mr Francis Obiri, considered that people with such criminal attitude were a nuisance in society and needed to be kept away from law-abiding citizens.
According to reports on January 6, 2015, the complainant, Madam Rosina Asare, was on her way to board a vehicle near the Atomic Junction overpass when Kyei emerged from the bush.
Kyei forcibly collected the the business woman handbag containing one Nokia handset, a Blackberry mobile phone valued at GH¢1,200 and GH¢2,000, ID cards and other personal items, and bolted into the bush.
The business woman reported the matter to the police on night patrol in front of the Presbyterian Boys School (PRESEC) at Legon.
The police proceeded to the scene together with the complainant. On their way, they saw Kyei and one other accomplice who Kyei later named as Richard emerging from the bush. Kyei and his accomplice took to their heels, with Kyei running towards an unregistered motorbike parked at a distance upon seeing the police.
However, when he realised that the police were closing up on him, he abandoned the motorbike and entered the bush.
The motorbike was taken to the Legon Police Station. While investigations were ongoing, Kyei informed the person owner of motorbike that his bike was parked at the Legon Police Station.
The owner was arrested when he went to claim the motorbike and he assisted the police to arrest Kyei, the prosecution told the court

According to the Deputy Minister of Communications, Ato Sarpong, government technicians are devising measures to restore the site. He was speaking on CitiFM's morning show.
“To an extent yes. I have made the relevant calls and we are working on it to restore the site in just a couple of hours.,” he said.
From what Pulse.com.gh gathers, Alsancak Tim is a Turkish hacker. On his Facebook page, On the FaceBook page, he alleged that this was the beginning of a cyberwar and will continue throughout.

2 Robbers Sentenced To 40 Years

Two young men were yesterday sentenced to a total of 40 years in hard labour by an Accra Circuit Court for robbery. The convicted persons are Atta Kofi Kyei aka Fresh Boy and Amid Yakubu, barber. 
The court presided over by Francis Obiri in separate judgements found the accused persons guilty of their offences and handed each of them a 20-year jail term.
In the case of Fresh Boy, prosecution said he had on January 5 this year at Atomic Junction robbed one Rosina Asare of her handbag containing one Nokia mobile phone, one Blackberry Q10 mobile phone valued at GH¢ 1,200, a cash amount of GH¢200 and other personal items.
According to the prosecutor, DSP Patrick Morkeh, the complainant, who is resident at Agbogba in Accra, at 10pm at the aforementioned date alighted at first bus stop close to PRESEC and Atomic Junction to cross to the other side of the road to board another vehicle to Kwabenya. He added that as soon as she alighted the convict emerged from the bush and attacked the complainant, threatening to cause physical harm to her.
The police officer said Fresh Boy collected the aforementioned items and bolted into the nearby bush.
DSP Morkeh stated that Rosina reported the case to the police who were on night snap check duty at the scene of the incident and saw the convict and another accomplice emerging from the bush.
He said Fresh Boy and his accomplice, upon seeing the police officers, took to their heels but were arrested upon a tipoff.
The police officer said Fresh Boy in his caution statement admitted the offence and led the police to retrieve Rosina’s handbag without its contents.
Amid Yakubu
It is the case of prosecution that the accused and one Kojo, currently at large, on December 26 last year at Omanjor, a suburb of Accra, robbed one Budu Yaw Joseph, a cabbie, of his wallet containing his driver’s license, voter’s ID card, a G-seven mobile phone valued at GH¢300 and a cash sum of GH¢180.
At his first appearance, the convict admitted the offence and was accordingly sentenced on his own plea.
He was handed 15 and 20 years for conspiracy and robbery respectively.
The prosecutor said at 10:30am while Budu was working with his vehicle, Amid boarded the vehicle from Sowutuom Mambo to Omanjor, adding that on reaching a section of the road at Omanjor, Amid, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, pulled a knife on Budu.
The prosecution indicated that Budu, sensing danger, quickly obliged and gave Amid the aforementioned items.
The prosecution said after the act the duo escaped, indicating that on January 2 this year Budu went to a drinking spot within the vicinity and spotted his mobile phone with a salesgirl called Debora Asiedu and made a report to the police, leading to the arrest of Debora.
In her caution statement she (Debora) mentioned Amid as the source and he was subsequently arrested.
The prosecutor disclosed that a search conducted in his (Amid’s) room revealed Budu’s mobile phone together with his wallet.
